I couldn't put it back on him that way, and it is the only small one I have, so I just took the rest of it off. I wish I didn't have to, because he was sooooo proud of himself for getting it off, and to top that, I took it off for him! He went ballistic. he was running around in circles and growling. needless to say, Dante took some much needed crate time for the next hour-and-a-half.
I then had to drag out all my (mom's) sewing stuff and try to fix the thing in a "I-don't-care-how-this-thing-looks-because-it's-not-going-on-my-face" kind of mood.
Dante is one lucky dog that I didn't have to use some hot pink thread, and found the exact color I needed.
It really didn't turn out that bad, and you can hardly notice it. I just wonder what CCI is going to think when I send it back. ;)
(not a very good picture, but you get the idea)
He sounds like a golden! I am raising my fourth puppy for CCI. My second one, Meeden was mostly golden and she did a lot of the refusing to walk when she was a puppy. She also figured out out to open a crate one time and found her gentle leader. She chewed the whole clip apart. My PPM didn't mind it and said not to worry about it. Welcome to the world of puppy raising! I am looking forward to hearing about more of your adventures with Dante.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that makes me feel better! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteHey Hannah - you remember my cat Holly? Well, when I was trying to introduce her to a coller, I followed the same process you described here. I was very proud of her becuase she seemed to do quite well with it, with almost none of the dramatics her brothers Boo and Buster showed. Well on Day 4, I came down in the morning to find that she had not only gotten it off, but had completely bitten right through it. Since she was 4 (and a cat) I couldn't attribute it to her being a puppy (or kitten. There was no doubt she was telling me exactly what she thought of that thing! And I was no where near as creative and talented at repairing it as you were. . .Love ya, Aunt Erin
